Big sale coming – shop temporarily down
Posted on December 11th, 2008 at 10:08 pm by joe

I am disabling the shop for a day or so as I prepare for a MAMMOTH sale.  EVERYTHING will be on sale.  There will be insane deals.  A lot of items will be sold for less than I paid.  The sale will be brief though, so once it’s up, act fast.  The sale will only last a few days.  I need to get some cash together and make room for upcoming releases.  The mailing list will be notified as soon as the shop comes up again.

PS there’s a bit of a delay with the Expo 70/I Am Seamonster 7″.  More on that when all beccomes clear.

The best bad review of the Meditations disc
Posted on December 10th, 2008 at 10:16 am by joe

Our friends over at Foxy D reviewed the Meditations cdr.  They gave it a pretty poor 3/10, then proceded to write a review that, to me at least doesn’t seem the least bit negative.  Check it out:

Meditations “Eternal Absence”

Judging by the artist’s name I figured that this would be a nice psych album to chill to…boy was I wrong! “Eternal Absence” begins with a buzzing hum, much akin to the hum of an overhead light. Soon it erupts into a cacophony of sound, with some shouted vocals in the background. Sounds like buzz saws flying through the air. And just as soon as things begin to calm down with a minimal perpetual drill of guitar distortion, the second track spits you out into a high pitched tone with a noise crescendo. Then a silent pause, just long enough to get your bearings—suddenly, like a noisy teenager to his parents in the room next to him—the third track jostles you into a rodeo of a guitar solo. More yelling in the background. Then the final track tiptoes soothingly slow, easing you into twisting clatter and pulsating generators. The short-lived trip is a journey through a meat packing plant that just hired Ed Gein as their new manager. Definitely not easy listening. 3/10 – Dave Miller (10 December, 2008)

welcome to december – works in progress

it’s been a while, so i thought i’d post something so you know i’m alive.

after an insane october, things slowed down a bit in november, at least as far as releases are concerned. i spent the bulk of the month driving myself crazy with silk screen printing problems. seriously, it had me going insane.

the good news is that I think things are finally sorted, and the covers for the expo 70/i am seamonster 7″ are nearer to completion. with any luck, those will be available in the next two weeks. also at that time, i’ll probably have a BIG sale as well. sign up for the mailing list if you haven’t to get in on that ahead of anyone else.

after that, i’ll be gearing up for a big batch of releases in january and another box set that will be announced soon.
