teasing – all the news I can muster
Posted on July 24th, 2007 at 8:14 am by joe

Thanks for all of the orders and support! The two new releases have been flying out the door. Subscriptions for Killing is My Business have been doing well also. If you’ve been hemming and hawing over whether to subscribe or not, I recommend making a decision soon. I’ll probably only take subscriptions through August 5 or once I hit 75 total. There isn’t much time left.

Up next will be the Half Makeshift CDR. This one has expanded from a 3″ to a 5-track 5″ and I love it. Musically, it’ll serve as a bridge of sorts between the Aphotic Leech release and the upcoming 20 Buck Spin release.

I am anxiously awaiting the B.Baphomet master as well. That will likely hit at the same time. The artwork for that one is already pretty far along and I’m super excited to get this into your hands.

The Peasant Graves/Fences split collaboration 3″ is in the recording stages. It will feature 1 track by each, and one track started by each and finished by the other.

Wereju is working on a dose. Judging by how fast his distro stuff sold, you’ll be as excited as I am to hear what he puts together.

I have a few more distro items to get into the shop. Keep an eye out, but there will be a few things being added in the next few days.

Lastly, and here’s the real tease, there is some exciting news on the horizon. There is a great new label that’s about to launch from here in minneapolis. They’ve got good things planned, and in the works is a split release between our labels on [gasp] VINYL!

Aidan Baker and Hoor-Paar-Kraat releases now available.

killing is my Business – announcement
Posted on July 13th, 2007 at 6:03 pm by joe

If you haven’t yet signed up for the mailing list, this is the first you’ve heard about this. Killing is My Business is a business card CDR (also known as hockey rink CDRs. They look like a 3″ CD with the top and bottom lopped off. Each holds approximately 5 minutes of music) subscription series. Here are the details:

subscribers will receive twelve business card cdrs, each by one of the artists listed below, in three packages over 8-12 weeks. the cdrs will be limited to the number of subscribers plus copies for each artist. individual cds will only be available through each respective artist. the final package will include a box to hold all of the subscription cds as well as a standard cdr compiling all of the series tracks.

Here are the artists:

· conversations about the light
· hoor-paar-kraat
· haare
· warmth
· birchville cat motel
· half makeshift
· nordvargr
· arc
· ox
· culver
· fences
· torso

Here are the subscription price details:

u.s. subscription
$40.00
canada subscription
$41.00
europe subscription
$46.00
eleswhere subscription
$50.00

I’m incredibly excited about this project. Sorry for the higher-than-I’d-like prices, but postal rates have increased, and it’s an expensive project to put together. I’m also hoping to have some subscriber only goodies to throw in as well. I’m hoping to have the first package ready in August. Though, I’m still working out the specific details, I’m planning on limiting it to 75 subscriptions, but that could change slightly. In any case, this will be a unique and limited box set/comp.

If you place your order with other items, you’ll save the nominal base shipping rates ($1US. $1.50 elsewhere). Be sure to add the appropriate Killing is my Business item to your cart to ensure you get a subscription.

The Shop’s Closed until tomorrow
Posted on July 12th, 2007 at 10:29 am by joe

Everything in the shop reads as though it’s sold out.  Not everything is, but I wanted to shut things down until the new releases go on sale tomorrow.  I will be doing some updates this evening, checking inventory on everything, putting the new releases up, and adding some new distro items to the shop this evening.  Barring some crazy circumstances, the shop will be back open tomorrow evening.  I’ll post here and send a note to the mailing list as soon as I’m ready for business.

The early June hopes were a bit of a pipe dream. I apologize for all of the delays in getting this next pair of releases out. We’re not far away from that day, though. I’ve been working like crazy – burning, cutting, folding, assembling. The Aidan Baker discs are more than halfway there, and the Hoor Paar Kraat 3″ is probably better than 3/4 of the way to complete. I hope to have the HPK discs completely done tomorrow. These are both really labor intensive releases, but I’m incredibly proud of both of them. I’m sure you’ll dig them as well. Take a look at the pic below for a work in progress pic of the Hoor Paar Kraat discs. Sometime over the weeken, Ill post some better pics, and a release date for the new doses. I’m shooting for Saturday, July 14. I’ve been having new distro stuff trickle in, so there should be lots of treats for all. Stay tuned.
