Aidan Baker samples and art up
Posted on April 26th, 2007 at 6:40 am by joe

I’ve updated the Aidan Baker: I Will Always and Forever Hold You in My Heart and Mind release page with four samples and some (not great) pictures of the packaging.

I’ve assembled the first 20 or so discs, and hope to have this ready for release in the next few weeks, hopefully along with the hoor-paar-kraat 3″.

Thanks to everyone who has placed orders thus far. All but the orders that came in overnight are in the mail and on their way. Thus far all of the orders have been turned around in 24 hours. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep the pace up and get you yr stuff in a hurry.

I still have copies of both releases, but the Fences is dwindling a bit. If it’s warranted, I may do another edition of that one down the road, but for the most part, once releases are sold out, they are gone for good.

Next up will be Aidan Baker’s I Will Always and Forever Hold You in My Heart and Mind and Hoor-Paar-Kraat’s The Huntington Chapters. I hope to have copies to Aidan before he leaves for the Nadja Europe tour. Those of you lucky enough to catch a show (I wish I could) may have the fist shot at these. The Hoor-Paar-Kraat artwork is coming along nicely. I should have sound and art samples up very soon.

I hate to announce an announcement, but stay tuned for details about a big project looming on the horizon. I’ve got a unique and very limited subscription series on the horizon. Once a few more details are confirmed all of the info will be posted here.

New Aidan Baker release on Volubis

Volubis Records, who recently released Aidan Baker’s Broken and Remade, have another new release by the prolific Mr. Baker. Here’s the good word from Volubis on this release and the others they have in store for us.

The remastered version of Figures with bonus tracks is here. Two tracks specifically for this release have been added: Disgfigured (pilotgram remix) and Figures (live). Making twenty more minutes of music added on to this release. Figures is my favorite record from Aidan and one of the main reasons I started a label. It’s closest companions would be on the slow core side of bedhead and low. A precursor to green and cold with violin, cello, guitar and several other instruments thrown into the mix.
Alot of people have been asking what is on the horizon for the label and here is a brief preview.
nadja – trembled 12″
aidan baker – songs of flowers & skin cd
aidan baker – metamorphose cd
aidan baker – letters cd
aidan baker – green & cold 12″ (maybe 2×12″)
aidan baker – I fall into you cd
aidan baker/thomas baker/alan bloor – terza rima cd (alan bloor is also known as knurl, for them as into noise, thomas is Aidan’s dad [on piano])

Grand Opening!
Posted on April 17th, 2007 at 8:59 pm by joe

The shop is open and ready for business. Click on the “shop” link on the right.

I’m still working out some details, and I have not had the time to write my own descriptions for the distro items. That will hopefully change soon. Most of the distro items are in very short supply, fyi. Any comments on the store or this site are appreciated. Thanks.

So when will the damn shop open?
Posted on April 7th, 2007 at 3:32 pm by joe

A number of people have been asking.  I’d certainly intended to be up and running at this point, and things are nearly ready to go, but I will be out of town most of next week both for an expected and an unexpected reason.  The plan will be to get things open and operational on April 16 or 17.  I’ll post with a more exacting windo as soon as I get back, and will work the next days to ensure that all will be in order when I do.  Thanks for your patience.  I think you’ll find the wait worth it.

fences 3″

I’m getting closer and closer and things are coming together better than I had hoped. I planned to open the shop with a pair of releases. Due to a (very) small delay with the Aidan Baker release, I threw a new release into production, the first recording by fences. Click here for more information and a sample. Here’s a gander at the artwork:

The shop is in progress and should be ready to open soon, with two fine new doses for your listening pleasure. I’ve been adding a the distro items I’ve been picking up, and a couple of friends have been volunteering as beta testers. Hopefully, once all is ready to go, it should run smoothly. I look forward to any comments or feedback.

More news coming soon.
